Smith Prosthetic Services is looking to expand our team with a Prosthetic Technician who is interested in building a fulfilling career in the welcoming community of Ottawa. 

We pride ourselves on being a leading prosthetics facility specializing in pediatric prostheses, while catering to all levels of amputations and age groups.

Our team approach applies to all aspects of client care, including initial consultations, device design, fabrication, testing, alignment, and ongoing support. We are enthusiastic in applying advancing technologies to achieve superior outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of technical fabrication procedures including laminations, thermoforming, etc.
  • Repair and service various types of prostheses
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in prosthetic technology and assist in the application of new techniques to achieve superior outcomes
  • Ensure excellent patient care and satisfaction
  • Assist all staff in maintaining a clean and organized workspace

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Good technical problem solving skills

Assets

  • Experience with pediatric prostheses
  • Experience with high activity prostheses
  • Experience with upper extremity and myoelectric prostheses
  • Ability to be Registered with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
