Regional Associations

Regional Associations are independent, member-based organizations that represent the profession to key stakeholders in the respective provinces.  A key role for Regional Associations is to represent the orthotic and prosthetic profession in discussions with the provincial government departments. OPC and the Regional Associations work closely together to ensure the profession has a voice.

The Regional Council

The Regional Council was created to facilitate the exchange of information and address common issues between Orthotics Prosthetics Canada and the regions.  Its purpose is to encourage collaboration, communication, and a positive, mutually beneficial, and supportive working association and belief that assistance, coordination, and cooperation in matters of mutual interest will enhance the achievement of their common purposes in support of their common members.

The Regional Council is an information exchange and advisory body to OPC and Regional Associations. The Regional Council, the voice representing the provinces, is an important source of information for the OPC board and its committees in determining priorities and issues of ‘common concern’.

The Regional Council meets at least twice per year.
